Lessons learned from trial and error

Well I have been in my place for a couple months now and the feeling that I am wandering around in someone else's house is starting to subside. After spending alot of money I have come to a few conclusions.

• Rule numero uno: Always start at the dollar store. -if you decide not to then don't go there later or you'll be mad.

• #2 Cragslist + A buddy with a truck + Patience= Extra money left over to spend at Forever21. I seriously don't know how I would have done without Craigs.

• #3 If you don't need it right away don't buy it. Why? Because it will go on sale.

• #4 Along those same lines don't buy something if you only kind of like it. Your going to be looking at it every day and eventually you'll probably get something else to replace it. So unless its free put it down.

• #5 Ross, TJ Maxx, Marshall's, and Tuesday Morning never cease to amaze me. However don't expect to find exactly what you went in there for.

• #6 Overstock.com

• #7 Ask around. If you need work done put the word out often someones brother in law magically knows how to install doggie doors.

• #8 Don't rush it. You want your home to look like your own so collect stuff you really love over time. Besides you will always have something new :)

Thats all I have up till now. If you want to educate me with your own I'll certainly take the advise.

The quest for the most perfectist earing holder

As you may already know from previous posts I have a non controllable urge to purchase earrings. But the ginormous collection needs the perfect display. Moving to my new house I knew I was going to have to retire the ikea child's toy holder seen in this post. Well now I have a too many options problem.

So I'm in Marshall's looking for a nightstand which was not a grand idea since I aint paying over $100 for a darn table. I pass the kitchen section and spot this non stick flexible grill basket for $9.99. Normally I would have n0 interest in a product like this but I was curious and opened it up after that is was all over. The cashier was look at me kinda strange when I when I walk up to the register with three of them.






Now I had no intention of ending up with these in my display of treasures and I already had two other ideas in mind. I'll get to them in a second. I still have one more to put up but how amazing is this.





Ok so the ideas were pretty wonderful too here goes...

The plan was to hollow out this frame (there was an ugly pic in it before) and then find a lace table cloth at Ross or somewhere to put in it. Once the lace was secure I could hang all the earrings in. I have no idea what Imma do with this big ass frame now.




Then I happened upon a plan B. I found these in the kitchen section as Marshall's as well. Not sure what there normal purpose is but I was going to hang them up and because they were baskets I figured I could find some pretty cool pictures up on the wall inside them. Then hang my earrings in the little boxes.


Since the BBQ stuff is already on the wall Im about 86% sure Im sticking with them but I wouldn't put it pass me to switch it up. lol Anyway if your not sure how to keep your earrings together I have provided you with several organizational options so get to it.

I may as well do a house update too. My room and casa is still under construction. But the ugly blue carpet has been changed out and I painted which got my wrist all sore. The room is still at 85% I'll take some pics of everything when I get into the 90's. Here's a teaser though.

Ok I know its been awhile

School, work, moving... Needless to say I have been rather busy most of my free time the past couple of weeks has gone to watching the entire season of Spartacus which I ended up getting sucked into after I heard everybody talking about it. Its a great show if you fast forward through the fight scenes. Anywho I'll stop ramblin. Since Fornever 21 is holding out on my swimsuits there still "coming soon" I guess I'll have to make a purchase w/o them. Dr Jays is having a pretty decent sale if your too tall for most jeans these may be up your alley. Prices range $13.99-$19.99.


When else are you going to be able to buy 6 pairs of jeans for $100?

Birthday bamboozlement

I thought we were just going out for a nice dinner to celebrate my birthday but when I got to my sisters house I quickly realized I had been hoodwinked. When I arrived there were about 30 extra people yelling surprise at me including my mom who lives about 2000 miles away. And although I had my pallet all ready for some tortilla soup I had no problem eating an excessive amount of my Aunt's stew chicken, rice & beans, potato salad, and rice pudding. Which was a nice surprise and amazing as always.

Anywho I had one of those rare moments where someone caught me on film so I thought it was worth a post. The dress is from the distinguished Forever 21 early 2000's collection. The shoes are Jeffery Campbell from off the rack because that's how I behave.
